"I was keen to change my career and was excited for an opportunity to work in construction. I love working outdoors and in challenging environments. I also have no objections to hard work, with my Royal Navy background."

He was keen to make sure the skills he gained in the Royal Navy was applied in a new industry, and construction seemed like the perfect fit. "I have never looked back."

"With no prior experience within the industry, I have been lucky enough to have been on the same job on a flood defence scheme. This has provided me with the opportunity to operate a variety of machines whilst developing my skills."
